We all have reason to be angry

I feel for Stan Grant (resigning from ABC) and Noel Pearson (because racism and isolation is on the  increase) , but they, like our post modern culture are trapped by their now totally inadequate attitudes to anger hatred ,repentance and forgiveness .They are overreacting to a real threat, but not really understanding the threat 

Mistargeting and overstating 
The monarchy and Christianity are not inherent threats to honoring diversity, but the very reason we have for centuries honored it.  
 It's how we deal with anger that's changed. 
The post modernists have made anger a sin, when it is not. This is as Os Guiness said, the West going East and losing itself in unproductive shaming, guilt and unforgiveness that perpetuates the pain and the adrenaline suppression ( not good) 

Most of us were taught that God gets angry, and that we should deal with anger before the sun goes down each day. Believers and their families ( incl children) could get hot under the collar and survive . They lived the wonderful truth that it was ok to be angry every day , but to deal with it in a positive  way .This limits, like nor-adrenaline, the damage that could now kill us.
 Yes, adrenaline is powder keg stuff, but the trick is not to fear it but to use its naturally good power to  drive honest confrontation and reconciliation. The modern overreaction to it in the form of avoidance prevents the beauty of both pointed confrontation and reconciliation.
The psyche's are telling us that the avoidance of anger's  proper expression is driving the current epidemic of depression.
By making it a sin, the reactionaries and others make the person who SHOWS anger now feel very bad , ashamed and accused of shaming and subject to gas lighting .  All unworkable intransigence where initiators and recievers  get nowhere and just feel bad . " The East No Exit " is one of Os Guiness's books . 

In rejecting their Christian heritage,  the ABC have adopted from the vacuum of the vault of pure reaction , some other old ideas that do not work.
The only way to make things work , for our children's sake,  s to admit we have given into unforgiveness, shaming and not accepting that the many injustices done to us ( or done to or by our forebears )  are less important  that injustices done to people right now 

That our culture is desperately digging a deep a hole and dying of gas poisoning is contraindicated by an unhealthy focus on the past - other people's pasts. 

Stan is suddenly doing OK

 I may be wrong, but , I was pleasantly surprised that a consensus came forth from this last weeks Q&A ( about time )
The consensus  I saw was
That "The Voice" was a hurriedly drawn together device that could not work,"  
There was a bit of humility in the group too,which makes a change from the strident know all's whom the ABC ring up regularly to provide putdowns and shut ups  ( politely of course . we are nice middle class people here) .        

How can Ita justify their predictable guest lists ? Talk about a short list that's growing shorter.  

What a serious piece of hypocrisy the country is entertaining about "really listening " when the advocates don't have enough wisdom to understand how it works ,
The legacy of our ABC will be ( with Robin Williams and Geraldine Doogue still at the helm for example)   a lot of talk but no experience and wisdom to make its wild and wooly speculations stick . Many of us live by NOT listening to its distracted and highly predictable discourses.

These people  who think societal change is easy and good , best read Cromwell by Antonia Frazer  where she documents the incredible miracle of how Parliaments ,as we know them, began , 

The Labor party will go down in history as the party who wrenched to power of the people of Australia by holding onto its precious gerrymander of the city over the country ( using its own blind love of numbers and their stairway to heaven) . 
To stop the careless dreaming read Thomas More and  Sitch on  deeply etched idiocy of "Utopia"'s , 

And with only a few pages read, such people might realize how easily we could lose this great but expensive time absorbing gift -- eg by imposing a whole lot of more meetings b meetings PAID for by our desperately much poorer children. 

In many ways ,this new concept of "a voice" is a regurgitation of an old idea that we abandoned 400 years ago : the one that says "louder and more " as if that works by rote or in history ( the Big man in Africa for eg ) It doesn't work! 
.And neither does singling out the reality that aboriginal culture can teach us a lot about environment provide a big enough reason to push English science and other cultural wisdom aside; singular focus stupidity,

The ultimate and productive aim of hearing all voices in order and counterorder is to gain TRUE consensus ( not this forced nonsense now promoted even on ABC) .  Making the process longer and giving one group the final say ,is like going back to bless Patriarchy - which none of us want. 

 The system of democracy that has worked for the West for all those centuries is the system which gives still small voices a go in order . It is based on faith, not that God blesses majorities ,but that God blesses those who truly listen; , in the long order of parliament. 

Any fool can see that the very concept of equality is ALSO NOW under threat because , without the fatherhood of God there is no brotherhood of man ( Bob Hawke )  The worshipers of mere technological fix ( Ellul) will throw out what doesn't work---- when will the ABC run a program on our young people and what they believe ? It certainly isn't the stale sentimentality of the post moderns.   

Ho hum predictably dumb

 Tis what happens when an institution feeds its own myths of self-importance. - and worse, has the self-righteous religious gall to tell us and the Australian people it provides "independent news". 
Thinking people are switching off in droves--- even if they don't see an alternative they smelt the reactionary rats ruining things like Q and A ---which answers no questions and questions only answers which don't suit its agenda. Tony Jones and his stacked pack who when things got tight was ' moving  everything on " 


Let me start with fact-checking and the stupid blinkered idea that it is.
Two generations earlier,  people who really thought things through ( like Carlyle who convinced Marx and Nietzsche that human nature was deeply blinded ) These diverse three believed in evil ; that now  unseen poison that eats its way quietly and unspoken through the sacred floors of the ABC ediface.
These old 3 ,( and other like Hagel )at least  recognized the vast deep hole that dilitants and pedants live in .
Not our ABC ,They think heaven lies at the end of a short piece of their own  reason ; their conclusions of their facts they claim as conclusive. I used to only listen to the  ABC. But even Radio National don't listen to practical scientists , prefering the Club mode of speculating on everything.

Hanging by threads spun in their own name and playing only their own game.  The day of judgment for such indolent arrogance is coming . 
Real scientists have always said no to such half-witted and half-baked stuff .; goes nowhere does nothing but damage;  damn lies and statistic's  that needs the repair the ABC never confess to  . 

I need say no more. 
ABC mediawatch have a good time playing pedant with the  contents of SKYNEWS but miss the big picture that SKYNEWS actually listens to people;  SKY guests who aren't  welded on limpets to the reactionary high seas ship of the go no where , lost at sea cynicism , of what was once our ABC. A generation who owe so much and see so little of their lostness and inertia about real evil .  

Making the news

ABC news services have lost their way in a big way. It's most evident when there is an unknown driver or unpredictable scenario on the horizon.  ABCTV have morphed into something like the commercial media, who dramatize and speculate to the point of being irrelevant - something none of them can afford to do  in this day of the internet age which may make them irrelevant .
The fanaticism within the ABC is quite predictable 

The easiest way to help fix this dilemma/ temptation of speculation is, with natural disasters (at least )is to STOP being smart shiny arses and quoting those sorts, Flannery and all the other hangers-on in all these agencies of inexperience and wild screen sheeting.   
The real risk assessors are not heard and because the disease of panic has been cultivated for decades in the grand tour of the wannabes, we have emergency management leaders who can't be trusted - guess who put them there -- wannabes .  
Example 
 Flooding on east coast this week First week of March 2022 
ABC reporters can't help but mention their own BIG numbers for rainfall amounts and river heights but can't do it without mentioning their own culture club fearmongering - those sacred chants about "climate change", 

These extreme floods have nothing to do with climate change .
These extreme floods have everything to do with the very unusual cocontentation of very moist air being pushed up an incline at just the right speed to cause it to rain for hours on end . This phenomenon is not new but it is quite rare and predictable - which is what should be said so the fearmongering doesn't get out of hand. 






 There is a fine line between reporting what you see and reporting what you think you see. Between reporting the facts, knowing which facts  This post is just to remind those who fund this self-indulgent and largely sub scientific organization that it has lost its way -- in so many ways, Our forefathers were clear about the calling, but the club has modified it into an image that suits the owners own image. 

Take the news generally 
It s fine to ask why but it's far more important to make sure you report what has happened. Reporting what has happened takes time and its hard work that is not nearly as much as fun as speculating HOW it happened.

HOW questions may be part of the news story  but reporters must show more discipline in adding their own limited vision,
If they have a how question - there must be time for FULL or complete explanation and its often that the time is not available , Poor choice short  term gain long term pain  for the ABC and its credibility . 

The ABC knows the first bit about reporting, of course, but the populace is aching for explanations and the ABC now wanna be popular ) oh dear  .
The self-righteousness that seems to attach itself to the flawless ABC is encouraged by a sound desire to be scientific ( plus a few hidden not so sound desires )- to find the explanation.
Its extremely tempting, as we all know, and I know now as an eco geomorph , to punch in " what i know " ---  unless called for ( that great idea in public service ) is wrong and takes away from the elements of our culture that we don't want canceled -- but we are cancelling because we have adopted some  corroding causes like " confusion , cynicism and a desire to be first" .   And like little children that we are if I can't be first , no one can have it , 

The serious implications for our children 
Instead of building confidence in competent science, the smart cynicism of the ancients is driving our children into a new culture ( which is really partly our own doing ):  cancel culture .
Where the romance of nothing is better than the weight of fact checking overload  the incompetent bookkeepers at the ABC insist on ---  their level.

What happened?
Didn't seem to all go to plan.
Looked  to me like the Rabbi was helicoptered in - unexpectedly 

If they had the God sent Rabbi on any longer, he would have reminded us all that God subverts the plans of the proud and laughs at them,    as many wonderfully did last night .
As it is , The Rabbi was on just long enough to save Molan from being crucified .

ABCTV need to tip the balance  away from wannabes to the outsiders - those practical ( not always professionals like myself ) people they keep alienating by running the balance in favor of idealists and PC merchants - those who strain out gnats and swallow camels .

Q and A pretends to be interested in answering questions . Bit of a giveaway really , They put mainly political wannabes on their panels and wonder why they convince noone . Perhaps its just about answering their own questions with their own answers  Trumps of this world keep appearing

And people who know what they are talking about and who might correct the agencies agenda get ostracised   Jordan Peterson last night
They tried to silence him by only allowing short jabs .

Noone wins when the petty pedants are in charge and allow one minute per stab like on #QandA last night.

To finish the day with the unfinished blood sports of ideas is to leave everyone bleeding.

Lets avoid doing that to each other. More humility about what we don't know (and how to fix it)

There is no confrontation with the truth on this program ( unless it manages to squeeze out the cracks ) Time everyone accepted that its not really trying to do what it says its doing .

Surely not us ?

Being objective about yourself and your culture is not something any of us do very well .

This is especially true when soemone pays YOU to be good and you don't admit to your faults.
This is especailly true when you are overly comfortabale  and concentrating on how good you are.

- also a risk with us all .

But we are not in positions of incredible responsibility. 
And we are not like Bolt,  Dean and others --showing that ABC is clearly limiting the reporting of what's happening in our country.
ABC predictable war mongering and worry watching is not worth watching- esp if you are a real economist or scientist.- or if you want to learn something ; not just hear progressive( or popular )predjudices each day.

The ABC has been in denial of its overly comfortable way of looking at things for too long

ABC MUST be more ruthless about its faults
- pretending to do science when it doesn't employ or report many practical scientists
- when its guests are repeating  stories we have heard before
-when those in authority in the ABC  ignore the cost of ignorance  and arrogance on our children and the dumbing down of debate and proper professional developmet in areas like conservation esp
