Moral authority from the out of touch minority

RE : Booing at sporting events

What a laugh .- all this fuss about booing at sporting events . These last few weeks have seen the religious left ( eg Jane Caro on ABCTV )pontificating about how one should behave in the auditorium . "One mustn't boo" was the conclusion after many could not conclude their sessions with the Sanhedrin over what is sinful in the new age. Unfortunately the new age has been ignoring the question of sin long enough for it to come back and bite them big time.

Takes one to know one - ABC boo each week when conservatives speak , What hypocrisy ! -especailly when its snide stuff . ( the way to avoid being prosecuted for the garbage words you apply is to convey your judgement without words )

Fortunately for some of us, sin is just normal and its best to limit your attention to your own or you might just spend your whole life worrying about others instances .

Booing can be  quite OK - telling someone what you think about their behaviour is what good friends do. Honest face forward confrontation is not only not condemned in scripture - its advocated from the Creator in the garden and fig leaves upwards. Nah is a boo just as Yey is a hurray !
In a booing crowd,  you simply can't always tell whether a comment is racist or deeply hurtful to someone . Should we all stop booing so there is no confusion about whose sinning ? No - we would never enjoy the idea of game playing -most people are not hurt by words used in a game. Players shake hands at the end to assert that .
We feel for Adam Goodes and anyone who "gets it all the time" because some of it is probably racist and deeply personal and  hurtful  . People hide behind words and what can we do about it when we still believe in primacy of free speech . Same with people who feel ostracised because of their unusual choices looks or gifts - its hard .  Speak back , questioning and points of order are all good options to counter .  "Tough it out "is good advice for all of us when it happens to us

The reality is its easy to go beyond just telling someone what you think of their behaviour ( to their face  - which is not a sin ) particularly when you are angy .new to some in the new age - anger is not a sin.  " Be angry but don't sin " puts the two subjects in context .( Ephesians )
The sin is when words are cutting words and involve physical and verbal violence ( both considered as prosecutable and serious matters in our code.

So,  some booing is Ok and some is not . "No I disagree " they say in Parliament each day ---nay .

If we aren't allowed to play games or respond to what we see and hear ,we don't learn to test limits and grow up .
Maybe we can't all shake hands at the end of the game, ( great symbol)  but at least we can and mostly do go back to talking like grownups after the game.  see you there ---noise anger and all !

No Q&A doesn't deserve a complete serve BUT

The public are in a fanatical mood and the Media are going to have to excel in their primary task of reporting (not commenting) if they are to retain audience and prove that they  too haven't been lighting fires they can't put out ; trusting their own judgement about what’s worth reporting . Mark Scott’s defence is sound and welcome  but time has come for a response that cuts into the dumb idea  of banishing evil. Time has come  for the many ageing reactionaries in the ABC to let younger less cynical and snide people report on matters of the heart - so that we don't all keep living the dream in a  “war with the world”  way.  And also making their own category control judgments ( eg religion is not reasonable , must only listen to peer  reviewed science/arguments -such controls limit us to the mundane .    Young people,  if you haven’t noticed,  aren't always as cynical an as categorical as we are . If they are lucky,  they might just ignore their peers and get married anyway.  Voltaire would hopefully see that all voices haven't been heard on ABC because the dominant old myth and heresy of banishment of evil has now returned. Worse its morphed into the new grand good gospel and its momentum is growing and will keep growing while we feed it . We Christians are expected to be banished for promoting religion when Neiman points out we are both working the same territory - "where reason is missing”. Banishment will not work . Both Jesus and Jung call it a product of denial—where reason goes missing for quite reasonable reasons; where reason goes missing because some broadcaster rules a discussion on faith to be out of order – beyond reason would you believe.    In blessing the present configuration and the narrow reason limits of our age ( don’t get me started – as a scientist I do not know what motivates;  those given freedom to choose  good or evil or justify their choice )  , Mark  fails to promote the vision that works and has worked to get us here ; ( let someone produce there own historical reviews )  the possibility of other programs that could grow and give better coverage of the open range  than quickfix Q&A .Rather than limiting the vision to Voltaire , methinks we all outta go out with Waugh and seek to give seeding to more creativity and licence on his three channels - that way our precious ABC  would not only be good , but would have many,  many more scoops to be proud of.

Some good shows

8MMM is great, as was Utopia .  and   Have you been watching .  NITV is doing well too

When are the ABC going to risk the agenda by having their version of Family Feud.?

and do something punchy for kids instead of that indulgent RAGE  (they don;t know how  so just take the cameras around to youth groups around the country . Community TV on ABC3 )

If its some comfort , even the BBC know how to botch a good story as their new wishy washy hacking at Chestertons great stories.( Father Brown ) shows

The big problem is NOT the actors and others , but the writers guild
We are only a small country--- lets do what we do do better - and ditch the PC scriptwriters . Tender for scripts .

I thought the ABC had banished Evil........ like it has God

Moral inquiry and political activism start where reason is missing.    Sorry the ABC is not that clever ....yet

Many leaders in the ABC think we have overcome the difficulty of evil and good ,  meaning they are lost in their attempt to find peer reviewed proof of their own chosen authors rhetoric on these two items -They remain  behind the times despite 3 channels , a budget and a budget process to keep any political party in power  forever. How lucky for the left ; for believers who think God is smaller than their view of Him

Still the right are none too tight either
The right are hung up an the half truth of radicalization .Dig a bit deeper brothers !

I thought Tony Abbott was wrong this week to advocate not allowing people accused of fighting in a war back into our country . It seems to show not only that we don't know what to do to stop young people going ( true at a political level ) but that we think evil is in the person , not the idea . To miss the last point is to put the cart before the horse, miss the concept of redemption and remain totally behind the game in the war on terror. The West has lost its way because it doesn't seek to teach kids right and wrong; Our wonderful idealistic children are attracted to people who do.

Why are our idealistic children joining a movement that talks about right and wrong?  Answer;   because we don't . The ABC's program Rage stands as a tired old  tribute to its indifference to questions of morality . Its blatant evidence of the agencies capitulation to the child in our midst  Like so much abcchurch  it proclaims the gods spell that"all will be well if everyone does what they like"  , In modern times  its morphed into - and "we can speak evil condemnation of one person "despite the fact that ( its says No you can't in number 8 of 10) and ignore the subclause of mercy --- "it would be better if he changed his mind "as the really effective  gospel teaches us to do.
The majority of commentators  are missing the point . Young people want to be radical and rightly so . They are sick of the blunt and the blunted face of idealism in their parents world

Sneer if you like but the narrow optimistic pessimists in your organisation are being overcome by encirclement from the bigger picture people - making you irrelevant in the new world on internet info and access ,  Your preferred choices and ignorance is being recognized and your former stranglehold on information is being  circumvented  Your belated use of the words you sought to banish (good and bad) come from nowhere and often go nowhere   Great authors still talk to the tough tensions elsewhere .
Pity, because there are some good things on the ABC.

ABC confuses information with entertainment

Q&A is entertainment  not information  , ABCTV  the only place the left can get a congregation together . The adherents don't have to pay and why do we put up with them getting prime time drip feeds into our homes ?

The terrible thing is that as Monday night shows , the program skips over serious stuff with the high priest trying to amuse us all when tragedy is in the air ( Labors dumb and sentimental non ground related ed policy , Ice outta control , Kids without real hope )

TOPS IN INFO  Information  -No . Too controlled , misleading and unauthorized -- Its too often in real learning terms a technocolor yawn ( as some of my drinking friends call it) -looks good but takes you nowhere . SBS and NITV can be better. They talk too much, listen too little ( Epstein 774 has the right idea recently )

TOPS IN ENTERTAINMENT ?Some great authors get a go there( Aus story , The Slap, Redfern now,Dr Blake) . , Much of their very good stuff comes from BBC and light entertainment like sport -- tell me who needs more Wall to wall Steven Fry telling us how much he knows?. Even good parody and satire they have lost sight of the art of. A bit of desperate talking -losing power and status ?

THE POINTY END  As we go down with paper degrees worth less than the paper they are printed on , we need to recognize the ABC's role in dumbing down Australia. ABC management  don't even see that we degrade our society if we worship technology NOT science and proper study as so many do , amnu of their so called science programs do exactly that -- even their best ones . The real tough education revolution they avoid.

Tell me we are not "miners" under the ABC leadership !. . On science and study, they are into heroes( Brian on Q&A, ) trinkets and mining the idea of technology ( not science) shares( Alan Kohler )

On news related, they are living on the capital they haven't earned and losing it hand over fist with careless commentary instead of promoting true authorship .Bottom line -   unelected governance on the drip feed
Its the only place the Left have where they can get a congregation together. Why do we suffer through their sameold sameold preaching teaching and sentimentality that doesn't work! .
Switchoff (FB) and /or keep them on track - as more and more thinking people are! Your children deserve better.

Control agents and Chameleons

I don't watch or listen as much to the ABC as I used to. It will go into history in denial of history ( current era ) Its hope in an evolved understanding proving more vain by the day . ABC showing a degree of fanaticism so high that its clearly  evident to casual observers ; the current game plans showing a  diminishing role in real info age learning.
The left have no where to go but to stick with the drip feed of the tricked taxpayer who if he thinks about it - wants better.

Like political parties, they talk of education revolution unaware just how badly and carelessly they are  part of the degradation of a sound education  pedagogy. Just how little balance there is there . Young people get nothing but the stupid anachronistic rage of the war against everything that is the style sheet on which they write. Worse, Rage gives in  to the idea that what kids want,  they need - really productive parenting
Once you realize there is no such thing as an independent author,  but that we should be hearing many more authors you can only switch off those who think it their job to act as gatekeepers - the many overrated hosts of programs on the ABC.

Worse ABC's licence to be the best at full stories denied by short unresearched and a very limited number of authors being on air . SBS by contrast outclass ABC completely in education (Anton and Jenny just 2 examples)

Paradoxically the story telling neglect is being picked up by Phillip Adams today .

So the Bible is the best read of 2014 , according to ABC's" leading intellectual" Phillip Adams .https://soundcloud.com/abc_rn/phillip-adams-on-the-bible For someone who has spent his whole life hoping that these" fables and distracting fantasies "would die the death of most books like them, this takes some explaining What makes these books so special now, after all these years ?
I think he's just playing with us ( as he does ) .Just another chameleon chairing his own tale at our expense? The best part for those bored by these half baked rationalists and their  lengthy tirades of the overly rational too , the stories in the books by over 40 different authors generally stand alone as experience - take them as such or not; At least its not theory. And not just one bloke controlling the content like U get at the ABC .

Les Murray models how to report mental health issues

Les showed that rural pressures create great risks and that's a consensus issue .

Because the  Greens and major parties never study anything properly and haven't supported an objective research program they simply don't know what to do beyond that .

The danger is, though, that they will fall for any amount of new unproductive research.

Firstly they need to know who are participants and observers in this debate ,,,and then dismiss the outsiders .
The outsiders and name callers , for example,   talk about resilience when they wouldn't know what a resilient ecosystem looked like . As said at start they create and perpetuate fear as a result of fear . Spinoza rightly said that fear is a companion of hope,so finding its right place is important ; These distant  "would be doctors" will never know that - The ABC wouldn't even listen to them so much if they chased the right people  RN .ie Bush telegraph .
Thankfully Les  knows that,  unlike the fearful kids whose minds weare contaminating with a glass half empty view of the world.. You can breed an alcoholic in the city just as easily as you breed one trying to grow grass. The grass grows in each paddock and no simple equation will tell you why one famaily thrives in poverty and abundance while another dives - attitude has a lot to do with it . Not so much nature and not so much " talking positively - a uniquely unsustainable approach cultivated by those on the drip fed from the taxpayer ) .  What the farm will tell you each year , though if you stick with it is that sun and rain will come again forgiving the past and making a new start;  not only possible but often highly productive to boot .Comes and goes like positive and negative , anger and joy , mental stress and mental relief . Maybe it isn't a an illness as the specialist on Q&A said.

Let noone say the natural world is limited without saying at the same time its most limited by the minds of men . I have published on this issue as a professional environmental risk assessor.

Recommendations to the ABC
--Was great that the ABC have got this right --- they need to get out of the way and let people talk
--The ABC and the Project are great at finding problems to talk about but they are really shit at offering solutions .Too many reporters like the thrill of naming them instead of linking. The Project is much better at it than the ABc and that's saying something  . As I said to Jon Feine over ten years ago with his listeners;link  us to each other  and then you wouldn't create so much unresolved mental stress ( creates it by playing with the subject like Tony Jones does )
-- Programs like Bush telegraph need people with real experience and understanding of rural people . Its easy to feed lollies  when mental issues require you to be aware of the medicine even if you aren't the ones to apply it - you might even invite guests like Les who hold a balance that really helps and don't dissect the person into a million broken pieces ( the legacy of those who practice at the school of mere description )

Mental as - an example : the poor professionals suffering in the Utopia ABC series

In a paradox of huge proportions Working Dog and the ABC have managed to help us keep sane . Like our partners they seem to show the best and the worst of us .The worst kind of wolves are those who never let us tell the whole truth ; those whose faith is in speculating and technology alone ; Those who insist we talk positive without a break . As Chestereton said so well nearly  100 years ago , the maniacs who fly the flag of the world - even when the war is on .

What grand therapy and grand tragedy is Utopia ABC . They didn't research the problem they reported it -- good work --which is really mostly what we want the ABC to do.

The government have got no idea that the reason they have such a incipid lot of advisers on some complex matters is because they have cultivated the view that "their job is simple "and and therefore any simple idiot can do it .

Well done Working Dog

- only thing is  -- its easy to see a problem and even easier for some smart arses to rush in and offer " answers" .
Much more important now for the ABC to help build a road back to planning for environmentally sustainability .It will be hard work but the best work for a generation of young people who need something hard to do .

Must not be negative on the ABC - even when talking about suicide on Katters watch

We know the crowd at the hungry games on Monday night are not ( mostly) there for solutions,  but to see someone eat someone  (You heard it first on blogger)  .It seems to me most of Australia missed the point Bob  tried to make ( that you don't get it - we do something great for nothing and you don't care that we don't get paid!: your religion in the "market and dog eat dog determinism"  is an- only increases mental illness to have people tell you your problems !) ; The demented won't care . Nice but toxically sentimental of you to raise all this money ,  but you probably only repeat the mistakes of past,  just as the mentalas week will probably only end up with a list of projects to keep the bureau distracted for another decade . I hope listeners heard him say -  do you no good to hope there ( a realist)  like the dummies who chant lifeline aren't being ( " accuracy" was the word..
No where is this more obvious mate than in the way the worry warriors  let themselves get all tied up in knots about the risks out here . Because they never work closely and objectively with nature they never get to know the enemy well enough;   ( death cycles for eg) to live with its limits and love it  .  "Living with the enemy "program is good enough to be on ABC in an extended changed reality participants format)  . Naturally that means when they see a danger , they panic and put the kibosh on things they fear .They bring the cult of toxic sentimentality which has enveloped them in their quickfix visit to the country
This wouldn't be a problem if they didn't interfere both with our minds and the public s , but in 2014 they legislate about all these risks, when they don't even know them .
Good jobs in environmental planning are being ignored because the polys do not know what they are doing in this highly complex area.
They may even let themselves think Bob Katter is some negative old bastard who misses not being the Premiers best man. "99% of people in Australia have no reason to whinge ,  so why should we listen to 1%.-- even in mental health week ". This is of course is quite logically ( they love logic at the ABC missing out on the joy of a satisfactory world view faith that works )  a problem with the ABC idea - if you make 99% of the people feel worse this week,  you won't have achieved the purpose of the week, so why do it ?   ( A because to know it is to help it -- sorry i do not accept that WV ; to be told it is to ignore it is my WV expectation )

How rich are we really ?

There is always something good on the ABC. But ,when the journos are looking in the wrong places for news, it's inevitable they become stale, slow and irrelevant . Three shows that come readily to mind are The Book club , The Movie show , Q&A( -specifically as it dropped all to worship at the halls of moving targets in Shanghi last night ) and all the TV current affairs .
I don't really know fully how or why they are becoming increasingly stale, but one reason is clearly that are pretending . ;They think they are chasing the new,  but really they are working the same old merry go rounds that keep them away from the leading edge ( The movie show is perfect for those oldies who only want to see what they wanna see  Marg and David won't venture onto the question of evil which is on many leading filmakers minds - maker of Noah  ) . The Book club similarly would never venture there but is perfect for those who seek the new in the vain hope of leaving the past behind . Even "One to One" which has the right idea ( conversation) (but like so many) they ask dumb and blunt questions. Its like rounding up sheep with a dog that can't bark or bight.

Where is the leading edge in Australia ? The need to give our children the inspiration to marry save use their eduction and build homes--- for one thing  ( Between Alan Kohler and the host of half baked eco reporters you would think they knew something about wealth. But no they talk of "how much we are worth " yes we have lots of money( we oldies ) but its not all in bricks and mortar .
Our children are not being educated and not going to get careers like we did as a result of our parents foresight into bigger picture ecomia  ; They had and rightly  celebrated determination and focus( they saved rather than celebrated how much there homes were worth) whereas what do we celebrate?   Do we not celebrate  dissipation ,careless talk of democracy( Tony was warned several times by the Chinese who are rightly sick of the Wests shallow preoccupation with their idea of numbers and mere talking( =democracy?  how dumb! -

The world is not waiting for democracy ( esp the idea inherent in Jones and abcchurch)- maybe it is waiting for strong leadership?(or even likes it) This shallow concept of democracy where every one has a say and niceness (" aren't we a friendly country "Q&A last night ) is the theme .Oh dear !Aussies are the innocents - anyone looking outside in will tell you that !

.The Parties are so dumb ignorant careless and hypocritical on this that they all talk of jobs - not careers. Anyone watching would think we we were on a  treadmill .

The proverb says it well ( Prov. 4:7 ) Pay the price for real wisdom - it worth everything . It's what makes one really rich......Commonwealth rich

Mad as Hell Breaks new ground

And about time
Just had an argument with someone who thinks the economic system and its biggest players ( Rupert Murdoch ) are the problem . The free market can easily be corrupted and is , but so is the mechanism of governance .  My point is one only a few people ever make , ever ( whatever their power) the point is psychologist Jung's point ( see below) .You can't fully deal with the disease unless you you fully face the disease. (YHIFOB)
Too many are so busy building (the right) or blaming the structures ( the left) , that they forget the problem is only ever deeply "man".
I am not saying corporations naturally do the right thing( that would be too easy) or for that matter , the wrong thing (that too would be too easy)
I hate the way Coles are screwing OUR milk producers at the moment;  price setting is real . I hate the way The IPA come across all knowing and all believing in the Free Market -

We can all spend our time touting at big business . I for one think like Jung said the real problem is not something man creates , so much , as as man himself - his unwillingness to follow through , the shareholder thing ???. For example Labors big handicap is sitting,  like a cancer or a big chip.. on its shoulder( saying "only government can do right!") ; "The Fabian ideas" which drive it are a huge burden on our cultures freedom and productivity (   If we believe that heads of corporations can't address big government , the direction and desperation of taxation" answers"  ,and the growing dangers from shareholders indifference to it all  ) Did anyone else find something to think about in what Rupert said this week in the NY post and under the IPA badge ?

What has all this got to do with " Mad as Hell" ? ABCTV Wednesdays
I just love , for one thing , the way he uses really young innocent people to do the reporting ( like our very own IPA man). We are such as innocent lot !!
There is too much good stuffing in the show to describe it all here. Good therapy ,the truth, parody and questions . By being a good observer Micallef brings the participant , the observer and the questioner back into their proper place in the cosmic dramas.

Governments are not just there to pick up the pieces

Thought  ABC lateline and guest( Rob) on 29th did a good job of teasing out some of the myths and false expecetations being too easily  translated into dependandancy by the press . This is not to ignore the needs of people affected by very rare events  but to properly apportion blame when there is loss with floods ( ofrFire ) . Unfortunately Rob from the Insurance industry , while giving a needed call that risk taking will cost YOU is not a geomorph engineer and mitigation concepts are too often a culdesac with more casualties . Infact a brief review will show that levees all around the wolrd are ADDing to the disaster elements and with silattaion associated with floods ARE not commonly solutions .

Forewarned is forearmed - our weak leaders need to get indepenendent advice and say NO sometimes. http://otwaynet.blogspot.com.au/2010/11/developers-found-it-easy-to-do-what.html

Hype in bylines and headings keeps Wars going

Its hard to get a good balance with headlines  but the failure of Our ABC TV  to play down the predictable preaching angle of one group against another is totally unacceptable. Ho hum predictably predictable and unwatchable TV.
Some of the ABC journos must think we are stupid . We are not stupid  - we just switch off and are doing it more and more !
  1. In the recent Gaza / Israeli  conflict our ABC's  body rocket count myopia could well prolong the wars and the reason for keeping it going ( western outrage created by the media by apparent injustice ) ( Hamas's  preferred angle on the game is played out night after night)
Its very easy to capitalize on the fact that at some time or other one group or another are creating the most impact , doing the most damage to innocents and "being the baddest"  . But, as  any kid knows that a lot depends on "who started the fight and who keeps it going " . The wiser kid  and the wisest observers try to ignore the first rocket ------ but eventually retaliation is necessary . Games ; Games even children usually grow out of
  2. Tweet and bylines are too often provocative, adjective rich and totally unacceptable for a news service..    Almost every day .Q&A bylines have made theavaitor famous BUT  go quiet despite "1000's" to be edited???
  3. "Long running disputes over tasmanian forests" (TODAY) should be more specific and not use the "Long running" and "disputes" tag . Which forests . Reports should less grandiose and straight to the point . You are wasting OUR time .

For example Green group.named .".....".reject more logging plans  in the Tarkine , or Bob Brown complains that his fire wood source will be shut down ." The NFF spokesperosn ....... say that Canberra haven't explained credibly to the people in Mildura  what an environenatl flow is . Mr ........ said Mr..... only seems understand the idea of putting fences up to keep people out . Mr.....   said real biodivesity protection had to be more than 4 magic numbers "
Some much of this political stuff is represented as though the complaints are huge and new when they appear not to be. Like all news , the person,  the place, the time , the really new stuff  and the ownership ( public of private resources ) should be identified .

This is real switch off material and does the ABC's reputation a lot of eroded confidence damage. We listen but we listen less and less

ABC- one way street to political correctness

No real practical support for small voices in its leader programs.
Great suspension of belief is required to accept Q&;A's producers  assertion ( on richard stubbs program 774 melbourne )that we should take politicains and control panels as answerers of questions. .Both groups have the lowest credibility ratings of any professionals .Q&A continues to avoid panels of real scientists and its simply doesn't allow voices of dissent to threaten its control .
Take tweets . It gets up to 20000 but does it publish them as a respecter of fair play? ; no it gets  3 people selecting tweets - more control . Should stream REAL OPINION on Q&Afor /Q&A agin or whatever stream you want (even random )  Not credible and real switch off stuff ( we learn nothing and worse =- more about same old same old Tony stuff)

Insiders - just a tad fanatical

Barrie Cassidy should know that his bright shirts are a giveaway.  Just as he should know that a real economist should talk stats and real scientists should talk science . By letting himself and David Maher wax lyrical and long ( what a pain !) on subjects they clearly know little about these wannabes( like Tony Jones on Q&A)  demonstrate that insiders is really outside of the debates going on around them . The average joe may not know that these blokes are out of their tree on science and economics but real insiders know - and the signs are nt good , fanatics are prone to repeating themselves and  drawing attention to the new clothes in ways which make the audience look more closely at what exactly they are wearing. .

Randlings

Finally it may be that some of the ageing reactionaries and word spinners are learning to do what they do best ..Our society is all the better for everyone doing what they do do best .  And honesty - how funny is that  'I'm Andrew and I'm not here to help'.
Hopefully it will be fun . I will be watching
If only some parts of the ABC would repent from a lack of reporting ,  jumping to conclusions or reinforcing prejudice; avoiding the pretence of a place where we may ask the questions,  but where the ABC still control the discussion.

Watched it again this week--- same story - the cartons are funny but interviews with independants not tough enough . Do you regret your alliance with the Greens and holding Australia to ransom because of them ? David Mar should be moved on because he 's always moving on .

Not YOUR job to get it

The failure of the huge ABCTV  machine to anticipate their potential scoop of the century ( qld election ) is due largely to their arrogance and confusion about their job . The job we pay them to do is report not commentate (and commentate so poorly on facts they don't have ) More at risk from putting up the image and saying what they wanna say . Sure they do it more subtedly than SBS
Its judgement day - all  they offer young people is cynicsm and a place to hide for ageing intellectual reactionaries.   In the real world no one would take them seriuosl - Now not even entertainment value  because they grow those who hide their under the taxes .

15 minutes of fame

While I really welcome another news source ( ABC24) , esp arts etc, . its very frustrating as a resilience planner to watch sensitive matters of environment risk and impact  being handled quickly in 15 minutes. In order to build a more sound response to the NET and the need for fuller discussions,  I hope ABC (inc radio ) add more URL'S to their reports as a matter of course

Many recent short circuit news grabs make serious errors and presumptions -eg  reasons for the bushfire in WA ( some of the reports on Fires ,
floods ( Bangkok QLD) are misleading and one sided talk. Better in 15 minutes to identify and promote local sources and reports from people ( incl net) . "ABC quarters " and others in abc24 should be counselled to report LOCALS, name URL sources locally  and resilience experts to avoid quick fix journalism and editorializing that is so common elsewhere .
That way they can be ahead of the game and capture
the AUDIENCE desire for both  quickfix with quickfollowup as well.

Finally ABCTV lets us hear from experts on the Green Economy

Well done Ullman
The experts on the program on ABC3 tonight ( green economy-future forum) quietly reminded thinking Australians why a price on carbon is as popular as it clearly is ( Its just so simple!)  .
Most importantly they said that, generalized innoculation type carbon taxes are wrong because they don't target inefficency and because new energy demand competes directly with agriculture and the poor.
SO  the dummies are targeting the poor and vulnerable .

The greatest evil is often done in the name of the best intention.Time the Fabians read their own heroes (.GB Shaw )more closely.
